Movement Teacher Training for Creative Types Who Don’t Fit the Typical Mold.
The Poetic Body Teacher Training is a unique movement teacher training program where you’ll receive step by step guidance and mentorship to create and launch your own movement class or other movement-based offering, so that you can:
Build strong communities through movement, play and re-creation.
Discover how to incorporate physical creativity, play & exploration into your own teaching and body of work.
Design play-based activities that promote physical freedom, creativity & vitality.
Design personalized fitness programs for poet-athletes to achieve excellent results.
Schedule, plan and deliver practice sessions for an optimal learning experience.
Whether you've learned to teach through a solid teacher training program, apprenticeship, or time and experience, you know there's a lot to coaching & training: safety, spotting, cueing, anatomy, and all of the soft skills.
But, how do you make deep connections with your students, clients or athletes and enjoy yourself in the process?
The Poetic Body Teacher Training is about creating connection.
And it may not seem essential at first, but if you've ever felt burned out, struggled to come up with new material, or noticed that your students stop progressing at a certain level, it might be that your spark of artistry needs to be reignited inside of you.
This workshop will help you:
Make deeper connections with your students, clients or athletes.
Create and Design an environment that is fun for everyone (including you!!!)
Adjust your lesson plan based on your student’s body type, learning style, or other individual needs.
It is great for coaches & trainers of all levels of experience. Think of it as a continuing education workshop to support and enhance your skills as a coach or trainer. Improve your connections and remember why you wanted to do this whole teaching thing in the first place!
Who’s it for?
Anyone who currently coaches, is thinking about coaching or wants a deeper understanding of what goes into teaching a class, a 1 on 1 session, or a practice that balances good technique with creativity.
This training will guide you step by step to:
Develop your unique style of moving and teaching (even if you feel old & rusty, even if you feel not experienced enough, or even if you’ve trained in more traditional settings for many years - you can re-create and re-juvenate your offerings and breath some life back into your sessions.
Create movement offerings you can share with others (whether that’s classes or workshops or retreats. You’ll also get clear on what exactly would be the best fit for you.)
Make moving an active part of your life and career (in a way that fuels your creativity rather than drain it.)
Make money and boost your business and marketing skills (taught from someone who has been making a self-employed living for over 20 years.)
Join a community of supportive movement people (so that you don’t have to feel alone in your practice anymore.)
Unlike other teacher training programs that focus on one specific methodology or technique, Poetic Body Teacher Training helps you to take your own unique experience with movement and turn it into an offering you can easily share with others.
From the creative side of curriculum planning and developing your style, to breaking through the inner blocks of fear and self-consciousness, to the business side of marketing and attracting your ideal students, I will guide you through it all.
Who’s it for again?
Creative Movers who don’t fit the typical mold when it comes to exercise and movement teaching, but who want to hone in on their unique style and experience and turn it into something they can teach or share with others.
Existing movement teachers (i.e. Martial Arts, Qigong, yoga, etc) who want to refresh their teaching content, add play and creativity and know how to facilitate it, boost their confidence, and create a wider network to share their classes with.
Those with other kinds of movement teacher training who didn’t quite “launch”... maybe because the style didn’t feel totally genuine to them, or because they didn't have the right business training aspect or marketing approach.
Movers who don’t necessarily want to teach, but want to deepen their own practice and make moves to let movement be a bigger part of their lives in a more consistent way.
